The Importance of Self-Care: A Personal Ritual
It's crucial to prioritize maintaining a happy, healthy, and fit lifestyle, but it can be challenging. With the constant stress and anxiety that we all face, it's essential to focus on activities that boost positivity, relaxation, and inner peace. In my experience, I've found that natural methods and self-care are the most effective ways to achieve this balance.
While essential changes to your diet, exercise routine, meditation, yoga, and taking supplements and vitamins are vital, I believe that skincare is a form of self-care that positively impacts your overall well-being. In fact, I consider it a personal ritual that I cherish every day.
The following is an example of a self-care ritual that I have found works well for me. You can create your own that suits your preferences, environment, and schedule.
- Start with Makeup Removal: I use my favorite Powder Face Cleanser, which not only removes makeup but also leaves my skin very smooth.
- Take a Shower: I wash my face and use a gentle scrub on my body, such as my favorite Foaming Body Polish. If I wash my hair that day, I use my nourishing shampoo bars and skip the conditioner altogether. I pay special attention to my feet by using my pumice scrub, which significantly reduces cracking.
- Shower Steamer: I use one of my shower steamers during the "sniffle season." These steamers release menthol and essential oils into the hot air, opening up the airways and promoting relaxation.
- Face Care: After showering, I apply under-eye serum with coffee and chamomile, my newest creation: Double C Serum (including on my neck), followed by my face oil serum that seals in hydration.
- Body Care: During warmer months, I tend not to use any lotions as my skin is adequately moisturized after using my soap or body scrub. During cooler months I enjoy applying my fast absorbing hands and body lotion with nourishing oils and botanical extracts. It provides excellent nourishment and softening to the skin.
